Theater Town
“Theater Town” is the 5th Ar+chaeology exhibit curated by Matthew Gosser and hosted by the NJIT College of Architecture & Design.
The first (exhibit) curated by Matthew Gosser, evokes the days when Newark was home to as many as 100 theaters. . . most were torn down. . . Others. . . have had their lobbies turned into store fronts for selling sneakers or discount goods. A sense of their former dignity and glamour is captured in poignant oil sketches by the talented Jessica Dalrymple.”

“Looking at a fellow artist’s contributions – Jessica Dalrymple’s painting of Ian Marvey’s Red Hook community farm – Donohue remarked, “this is proof that you can have a gentleman’s farm in New York City.” As long as the art sells, the show itself will lend a hand in producing more of such proof. “
